Warzone devs revert controversial loadout change after fan backlash

Just hours after a controversial loadout change was announced for Warzone Season 2 Reloaded, Raven Software reversed the decision in response to an overwhelming wave of negative feedback.
Ahead of Season 2 Reload launching on February 20, The Warzone devs shared the complete patch notes.
Instead of a wealth of new content, the mid-season update primarily focuses on quality-of-life changes, such as finally fixing the Mountaineer Perk, reenabling Combat Records, and balancing Weapon Trade Stations.
Yet, the change that generated the most attention was a decision to no longer allow players to use the same loadout drop after respawning.

Season 2 Reloaded loadout drop change reversed
Raven Software revealed, “We hear you. The previously announced change to limit repeated Loadout Drop access after death has been removed from Season 02 Reloaded.”

Before this announcement, players had to either return to their dropped weapons, purchase a new loadout drop, purchase their weapon from a Buy Station, or find a favorite supply box, since re-using a loadout drop wouldn’t be possible.

So, the decision was made to improve the visibility of skull icons so players could recapture their dropped loadout weapons or take advantage of the Weapon Trade Station instead.
However, players retorted that this wasn’t an issue and never needed change. Loadouts have always been a controversial topic. In 2022, Warzone removed them completely, but players complained, and they were added back.
